Hello,

Sometimes i'm experiencing problems when assigning keys in game.

When i calibrate/test mu hotas warthog throttle in windows all the keys respond as expected.

However, when i open control setup in DCS, when i assign button using the coolie hat to the TDC controls, different keys show up. I'm making sure to touch only the coolie hat, however other buttons show up as well.

Is this some known issue?

best regards

B

You should not CALIBRATE Warthog Stick or Throttle in Windows. It causes more problems then you started with.

Hopefully someone else can shed some light on the issue.

Good Luck,

Hey Badger,

First thing I would do is uninstall your device completely. Drivers, software, and restart. Then follow the install instructions religiously.

Once you've done that try to map in DCS again. If you still have issues, try reinstalling firmware.

What other buttons show up?

I assume you are just mapping directly in DCS, not using TARGET, right? Make sure your switches are set to a neutral position (no red dots show up in the Windows Game Control panel for the Warthog). For example, a 3 position toggle switch must be in the center position. Otherwise, in DCS, when you try to assign the Coolie, the toggle switch will also show up because it is being "pressed".

If you are using TARGET, make sure you didn't run a TARGET config that is actually activating those other buttons. Like having a toggle switch set in a position where it continuously holds an assigned key down. This would normally cause issues in Windows as well, but some keys can be programmed and held down and you may not notice the key is held down even in Windows or other apps.

I hope I won't derail the topic here, but I would rather ask here than to open a new one.

Usually I always set the control in-game. But since I have the Warthog now, where you have 2-position keys I started using TARGET. The problem I am facing is - I don't know all the key shortcuts out of my head. Is it possible to get or export a list of all commands? How do you do it?

Yes there is.

You can export an .html of your current settings by module, and convert that to a TARGET .ttm macro file. It will have all the available commands, the corresponding keys in usb format, and the translation.

I make those macro files first thing when setting up new module.

It makes making a script supper easy, especially if you have a .tmc template file with all the buttons coded and ready for macros to pasted in.

I have uploaded my template to ED user files

Hope it helps

Glad to see more TARGET Script users.
