But wouldn't that already be a valid professional training tool if it were done right now, all kinds of stuff, precision cargo lifting training, electrical pylons, high mountain work (skislopes), wood logging, etc, holy crap this could be big business no?

I think you can already simulate it in DCS, although not with the forest fires, those are not in yet. :)
