Samsung Odyssey gen 1 out of sync and crashing DCS

Recommended Posts

I picked up a gen 1 Odyssey to possibly replace my Rift which I've used for over a year now. The Rift speakers quit working and I wanted to see if the odyssey would be better. After installing steam VR and WMR for steam I fired up DCS and the eyes are out of sync. Everything is crystal clear while in the WMR and steam VR app but the minute I start DCS the main screen is out of sync and stays that way after launching an instant action.

My IPD on the headset is 60 and as I said it's clear when not in DCS. Changing IPD in game doesn't effect the physical IPD of the unit but instead changes the size of the world around me. I changed it anyway to match the physical IPD with zero effect. I also changed the PD with no effect. Is it just a bad headset or has anyone had this problem and fixed it?

Thanks

I am just guessing here BUT I do think that you have double vision in both displays! That is because the PC cannot render 90FPS (it probably gets 40-60) and that is the effect it creates!

All you need to do is turn on reprojections (the thing that makes 45 FPS display 90 FPS in the headset). The steam VR one DOES NOT WORK FOR WMR.

All you have to do is edit 1 or 2 lines in a file.

Hope it helps!

This effect occurs even on the menu, and in SteamVR mirror :

Many games had this problem, for example il2, Elite Dangerous, developers repaired it there.

This applies only to Samsung Odyssey and Samsung Odyssey +, it occurs randomly.
