Show the event/function result on screen

I am really miss to see on screen what function I turn it. For example when I release the gear, show somewhere (top/bottom of screen) gear down/up. OK, the gear sign is easy to recognise but there is many function that is hard to found or read in cockpit. Autopilot for speed or altitude, hook, flap position etc.

And there is the new problem, the VR when we push switch/buttons total blind ... am I push the right button? Or not? Who know? A message will help A LOT!
