Mouse assign

Hi this may have been covered before but here goes.

 

 

I would like to assign my mouse wheel to zoom but in DCS when I go to adjust controls and settings it won't let me select the mouse field so I can assign it. it only allows me to assign it to the HOTAS.

 

 

also with the HOTAS (I have the X-52 Pro) I set up a profile and assign the keys to the ones in DCS and save it, But when I load the profile it doesn't load the profile on the HOTAS.

 

 

Even when I go in to DCS worlds again to manually assign the HOTAS things like the slider and thumb wheels wont assign. Even if I use the drop down menu and manually assign the thumb wheel and slider they don't work in game.

 

 

Am I doing something wrong??
