gonzman Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 (edited) In multiplayer yesterday I spawned in an F14 and fully started her up with the assisted mode from Jester, everything was fine until it was time to taxi, the Nosewheel steering wouldn't engage, with either joystick binding or N key. I'm fairly sure I didn't miss anything during startup. I rebooted the game and rejoined the server and had no issues 2nd time around. However I went in single player today to practice flying and the same thing happened! Edited April 2, 2019 by IronMike
Deano87 Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Are you right clicking on the gear handle at any point? That activates the emergency gear mode and that stops nosewheel steering from working apparently. Other thing it could be is that you’re inadvertently setting the aircraft to kneel using the nose leg compression for hooking up to a catapult. Those are my two guesses. gonzman Posted March 18, 2019 Author Posted March 18, 2019 BINGO! I must've accidently hit that extending the fuel probe in and out, I might have to lean over a bit better with TIR next time! I do recall hitting the gear handle, but I returned it to the original position, is there a way to restore the NWS function? just curious in case I "fat finger" it again.
Deano87 Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 If you right clicked on the gear handle which I think activates the emergency extension then I think nosewheel steering will be kaput until you respawn the jet. That’s my experience so far. smallberries Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Yeah, I think I had the same with the emergency extension KO'ing NWS.
