Hornet radar elevation moving without input

Something I have just started experiencing. I am happy with moving radar elevation up and down by command. However I am flying along an without input to those commands the radar elevation starts moving fairly rapidly (usually down) which of course renders it useless. I can bring this on by pulling back on the stick (X-56) to climb or for level turn.

 

 

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

OK may have solved. When setting up a new controller the game slyly assigned a stick axis to the radar which I did not see until now
