MISSION OVERVIEW Today’s mission we will be providing close air support for our ground forces as they try to take back the oil fields from the hostile invaders. WEATHER A strong high pressure system continues to remain in place over the AO, which will give us VFR conditions for the next 24-36 hours. Conditions will be, throughout the area, few clouds and visibility 8 miles in haze. Winds in general will be moderate from the northwest. Overnight temperatures will be in the mid 20’s, rapidly increasing as the sun comes up to the expected high of 39 degrees. Be advised, the enemy will also have this capability. Both AWACS are considered high value national assets, and are defended heavily. Do not try to approach or shoot down the AWACS aircraft. We also will have a UAV patrolling overhead to lase targets of opportunity. Take advantage of this! DO NOT FLY WITHIN 10 NAUTICAL MILES OF THE ENEMY AIRBASE. THEY ARE HEAVILY DEFENDED AND WILL ENGAGE ANY OF OUR FOCES IF YOU ARE WITHIN 10 MILES. IF YOU FLY INTO THE ZONE BY MISTAKE, EXIT AS SOON AS YOU CAN! 2. DO NOT TRY TO TAKE OUT THE ENEMY SAM SYSTEMS AT THEIR OWN BASES. 3. DO NOT TRY TO SHOOT DOWN THE ENEMY AWACS! 4. The ground forces are scripted to be actively engaged in combat. If one enemy formation is destroyed, another will appear shortly to take its place. If all goes well, there will never be any lulls in the battle. 5. Keep an ear out for any pop up bandits. They’re nasty! GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, AND DON’T FORGET TO MONITOR GUARD!
