markturner1960 Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Hi, I am using Real simulator grip, R3 base and the HID software. They recommend assigning the buttons within their software, rather than within DCS, due to the greater flexibility of the grip and software. However, I have hit an annoying issue .... to program the button in the software, I must input the key press that DCS has assigned the function to. In my case, I am assigning the SCS switch functions to my grip TMS switch. The key press within DCS is "right alt + semi colon" for SCS FWD. On my keyboard, right alt key is Alt GR and in notepad when I put that key press, ( I would need to press Alt GR, then shift + semi colon, as its a shifted key....) it types nothing. This is because, I have found out that Alt GR is a modifier key. So my query is - do I need to get a different keyboard to input these key strokes? In the Realsimulator software, when i try and enter the same keypress, it registers as Rshift,AltGR,OEM1 which is different again! Why is it different in notepad, the RS software ? Finally, what is DCS looking for when it looks for this keybind? The characters ? Or the key press?
