markturner1960 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Hi...I am facing a bit of a steep learning curve, having come back to simming after a good few years off, just getting all my hardware ( some old, some new..) set up before throwing myself back into learning to fly the jet proper;y again....Apparently, learning & getting the controls set up is pretty much as complicated as flying the jet...! I have Helios & a touchscreen ( not working yet, see other thread..) Real simulator gear ( very complex set up and software) and just brought some lilliput screens to output MFD's...so a glutton for punishment..:smilewink: With some luck, I might have it all set up in time for Christmas !!:megalol::megalol::thumbup: Sarcasm aside, could really do with some help on all aspects. last night, I spent a while programming the HOTAS assignments to my RS F-16 stick, using the DCS controls options, as using the RS software was proving tricky ( see my unanswered thread regarding key presses ) Tonight, I come and sit down to carry on and find when I fire up DCS, that none of my assignments from last night are showing in the controls options.... Why would this be ? Pretty sure I saved my profile at least once as well? Be good to understand whats going on here.. As an aside to this, is there anywhere I can find some kind of information regarding programming and how the system works within DCS? If I knew how the system works, perhaps I could better understand and remedy my issues? For example how the saving of profile system works? Why are there so many .lau files? what do these do and how do they work....? etc etc? happy to try and learn, just not sure where to look for the information. Once I know better the basics of the principles within DCS, I am sure it will help me learn the RS software better .
