Mission Editor /Quick Mission questions

Recommended Posts

Hi.

1) In the Quick Mission generator, if I choose Min enemy fighters, I'm still faced with around 6 fighters (who promptly kick my butt). Is there no way to have fewer enemies? 6 against 1 seems pretty harsh for minimum! (Am I getting something wrong?)

2) What I'm overall, is some way to do quick, unpredictable missions (where I'm not entirely sure where enemies are... and perhaps what type). Does DCS currently allow for that? Does the Quick Mission generate essentially the same missions (when you use the same settings) every time... or is there an element of randomness? Does the full Mission Builder allow for randomization (ex. setting a large span radius for enemies, at least?).

3) Does DCS actually have any ground attack mission capability against structures (buildings/bridges, etc)... something other than ground vehicals?

I don't use the quick generator often so I'm not sure. You can save the generated mission and edit it, for example delete some fighters.

DCS does allow for random missions but there aren't that many features that allow for it directly. What most do to create randomized missions is use the Mission Editor triggers. With these you get a lot of control in setting up how the random forces are generated, but they can be a little confusing for first time users.

Yes, however I don't think the quick mission generator uses this. It's possible in the Mission Editor, you can assign strike aircraft to bomb points on the map and map objects.

In short, it sounds like you should take your generated missions in the Mission Editor and tweak them there.
