standalone server not showing up in the list

I posted this in the server admin subforum, but am wondering if anyone saw it, so I'm posting it here:

Hi,

I set up a dedicated server on a laptop that I have. I fire it up and then the browser-based console, and everything seems fine -- my WAN IP address is correct, etc.. If I log into the DCS site and look at my server list, I can see the server listed along with my WAN IP address, although mission time is stuck at 00:00:00. If I click on the server name, I get the DCS Server Dashboard, but the server name is incorrect ("DCS Server") and the IP address is shown as 0.0.0.0. Most importantly, the server is not visible in the multiplayer server list.

I have my Xfinity gateway's firewall level set to "low", so port 10308 should not be blocked.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I don’t have much experience with a dedicated server, but I do when it comes to hosting coop missions. Couple things to check that haven given me problems.

1) Verify that the DCS version your running on the host and the DCS version your trying to connect are the same release version.

2) your fire wall level is low, ok verify that 10308 is actually “Port Forwarded” on your router. My router actually has a selection called “Port Forwarding”. That should also allow you to set your IP address for the forward as well.

3) I setup a static IP on the hosting computer through windows. Some routers have a self protect feature that will scramble or change your IP address every time you connect to the internet. Creating a static Ip on your host computer will eliminate this issue.

4) Verify on your host computer that you have given the firewall exceptions to DCS.

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. I hope one of those helps you out. Good luck!
