Obermayer Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Hello everyone. I want to update my old monitor to fly dcs, I am looking for something big about 100cm wide, about 38-40 inches, oriented to Gaming with 120 / 144hz at least, to be curved or flat that can be seen in dcs? I also think that 16: 9 aspect is better than 21:9 in flight simulators because of the narrow width of the monitor? the budget is not a problem at the moment, I have vr but for dcs I prefer to fly with trackir by functionality ...I also want wall support, vesa is necessary,https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-Strix-XG438Q/ Would this be a good option? problem that are 109cm, exceeds a little size but could be good
HotRod87 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 (edited) I got tired of waiting for this one: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-38GL950G-B-gaming-monitor So I just got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TMHV2L7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Edited October 25, 2019 by HotRod87 EVGA 2080TI FTW3 ULTRA - 99000k - 32gb 3200 14-14-14-34 - ASROK Phantom 9 - EVGA 1300W - 970 EVO Plus 1TB [X2] - Noctua D15 - Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000 [X8] - Asus PG349q 34" 3440 x 1440 @120hz - Oculus S - EVGA D87 Case
Obermayer Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 I had seen this monitor, it seems perfect, 114hz, curve 38 inches, but the 21: 9 format is not very wide for flight simulators when the vertical size does matter enough? Is this topic 16: 9 better? Asus is the best monitor, good buy Roger
HotRod87 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 The clarity on the 34" Asus is awesome, if that 38" LG was available I would have gotten it, but it wasn't. The Oculus S is pretty cool for VR but not super clear, might end up buying the Reverb. I just hate having something on my head for extended periods so I like having a good monitor.
