lesthegrngo Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Guys, I want to use three of these modules on the countermeasures panel https://www.ebay.com/itm/8x1-LCD-Display-Character-Module-w-Tutorial-HD44780-FFC-Connector-Black-on-White/302064225493?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 They use 16 pin FCC connectors that I have adapters to go to 16 pin 0.1" headers, and what I was hopping was that I could use one of these below to connect all three so that I can just use one Nano to drive it https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-PCF8574-LCD1602-Adapter-I2C-IIC-TWI-Serial-Interface-Module-Board-LCD-Conv/382951000012?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 I believe that you can do this with a MAX7219 setup, but can't find the ready made modules Is this possible? Cheers Les
tekadept Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 (edited) You should be able to have 3 of thesePCF8574 LCD1602 Adapters no problems, with those 3 address pads on it you can have up to 8 devices on I2C and drive it with your nano. Thanks, so I would need the three adapters, but just one Nano, or can I connect all three LCD modules to one adapter? I'm not brilliant with this stuff, so apologies if my question sounds a bit stupid! Cheers Les
longuich Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 You need three i2c adapters and change the i2c addresses on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
