Hi, I really like the last update! But I just noticed one thing may be not accurate. Both viper and hornet have this issue. The center cross of HMS will move up when look up over certain angle to indicate your head orientation. But when the aircraft is not leveled, like roll right 90 degree, the cross will not move up. Instead when you look left(where now the sky is to the left of pilot), the cross will move up. Is this accurate?

The purpose of the cross movement is not to show the pilot head orientation. The purpose is to allow the center of aiming to shift in order to more easily put the cross on some point of interest at helmet angles of 30-80 degrees elevation.

The question becomes if the helmet elevation is measured with respect to the cockpit bathtub or the helmet's frame of reference. E.g. if you lie the helmet on it's side and pitch it "up" toward the tail does that count as elevation.

I agree with you. According to other simulator it should be with respect to the cockpit (the radar mechanics) not the horizon.

Is it possible that the radar gimbal will always be leveled with the horizon, so what ED does is actually right:huh:

That cross might be linked to the radar horizon stabilization like Evovcui mentions, and that would mean that it is a bug if the HMD cross should move relative to the head pitch in cockpit.

Think if you are in a dog fight and then you start turning fight, what you would like to do is to get the missile quickly on the target that is coming from opposite side of the turn, and hence is relative to cockpit attitude just above you, while still at same level. So now if you would look to upward the cross doesn't move up.
