Delareon Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Hi, im new in the Cockpit Building stuff and as a Designer i dont have much knowledge in electronics. So im searching for a somewhat basic introduction to what i need to get a custom button working in DCS (or basically any game). pls dont assume that i know anything but making the panel pretty. some basic introduction (link maybe) would be very nice.
Fusedspine33 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 For basically any game and the use of more than one card as your build grows (it will) Leo Bodnar offers input cards that have serial numbers recognized by Windows which prevents Windows from scrambling inputs between cards when you lose power. Delareon Posted January 17, 2020 Author Posted January 17, 2020 okay, am i right that i need any button or rotary and a board like this: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=205 then plug the board in via USB and i should be able to push some weird buttons :P
Fusedspine33 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 BBI 32 and BBI 64 allow for all switches EXCEPT potentiometers. The BU0836X allows the use of potentiometers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Delareon Posted January 19, 2020 Author Posted January 19, 2020 Ok one more question :) As statet before i want to stay simple at first it will get more complex later on, thats for sure. So the first Panel i try to build is the MISC Panel of the F-16. If i understood correctly all i need are the buttons and a Board. So, i thought i will use the Panel from hispapanels. https://hispapanels.com/tienda/en/f-16-center-console/6-f-16-misc-block-50.html The Buttons i need are listet there e.g. 4 ON - OFF - ON Switches and so on. At first i dont implement any lights so i pretty much ignore them for now. Just the correct Buttons at the correct position. Am i thinking correctly that if i use one of those Boards e.g. the 32 Button Box: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=205 to connect one ON - OFF - ON Switch, Beginning at Button 1 i need to plug in one Cable to B1, GND, B2 (B2 GND stays Empty), then i continue to B3 for the next one (B3, GND, B4) and so on. Did i understand correctly? Its a little bit magic for me, im not sure if it is correct to let one GND always empty.... Well as i said im an absolute beginner at this so pls dont blame me for noob questions. Also can anybody point me to some F-16 Home Pit Plans? Tried to find something in Google but no Joy so far. I try to get the correct sizes and Dimensions so i can find the Buttons even if im in VR.
