It's the padlock symbol. It fixes the camera to a point, unit or object. Look in the keybinds for "Unlock view (stop padlock)" to exit padlock. You might also want to remove the keybind for it altogether, if you don't want to use it.

Many thanks Harker. My pc crashed & I have not been in tune with updates etc for some time. Will try your suggestion.
