Ford ? Who's Mr Ford ?!?

Hi,

 

During a JTAC call, the IP is Ford and the Egress North is Ford (see the screenshot).

 

Is it a navigation point ? Because I cannot find it on DCS.

 

PS : my callsign is Enfield, not Ford

Yes, it's a named type of nav point. You set them up in the mission editor using the IP function and depending on which aircraft you're flying, they'll be part of your nav database and can be searched for (eg on the CDU in the A-10C).

Problem is, I am flying the F18 and the Ford point is not on the map on the mission editor, not even on the Google earth file published by the 476th group.

 

Any chance to have the coordinates?

In the Hornet? Not that I know if without checking the mission planner before flying (but there might be a way to search the nav database — I'm not familiar enough with the F18 to say), unless the mission creator was kind enough to mark it on a custom kneeboard page. With a bit of luck, it's just a named regular waypoint, in which case it will show up as such on the auto-generated kneeboard flight plan map.

The thing is, initially, the aircraft must hold over Creech airbase and call the JTAC.

 

So, there is no waypoint on the target or on Ford. I have to use the coordinates to create the waypoint over the targets and ask the JTAC to illuminate them.

 

Ford nav waypoint is not displayed on the map also. that's the problem.
