Talvid Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 (edited) Hello all. If you want to use your X52 pinkie button as a modifier you can use the X52 software to map alternate modes in addition to the 1, 2, and 3. The pinkie lever will activate the alternate mode. OR If you want to use the pinkie button as a modifier in your DCS controls you have to delete all the +pinkie modes in the X52 software only then will the pinkie lever (Button 6) be available to add as a modifier in the DCS controls mapping. The axis can be used with the (band) setting which allows you to set a button or switch based on the percentage of movement of that axis. This makes a nice dead-zone when the rotary knobs are neutral, and you can also map a control when it's neutral ( like how I set the slider to retract the speedbrake when it's set to zero, to extend halfway when it's in the 33% - 66% range, and to extend fully out when the slider is anywhere in the 66% - 99% activation range. you can't find the X52 test properties by right-clicking the desktop or taskbar icons. To find it, go into your game controllers settings, use the windows search bar to find it quickly if you like. And from there you can select your X52 HOTAS controller and edit the properties like the backlighting, and time zone / date, test the buttons and select whether your Clutch button (with the i symbol on it in the middle of the first rotary knob) you can turn that off so it doesn't deactivate all of your buttons, and latching is when a button acts like a toggle, where press and release activates, and press and release again deactivates. unchecking the latched option makes it so the clutch button deactivates your controls while you press and hold it, but releasing it activates them again. Also notice how the latch option is available for any HOTAS button or axis in the X52 controller software. So many possibilities ( but make sure you don't try to use the pinkie button as a modifier in the X52 software AND in DCS simultaneously, because they cancel each other out. That's for all who are like me, just bought the high-integrity models and are stoked to get the controls mapped and get on with flight training / missions, Cheers!
