why can't we have separate cockpit resolution options.

I've been trying to squeeze every possible performance gain to play on multiplayer and now I've resigned with low textures because this way I can finally hold 45 frames on busy servers(with some drops in airfields).

 

Now what bugs me is that while its fine to have the exterior low res why can't I have everything but the cockpit low res? This seems like such an easy fix, please ED give us more options so we don't have to resort to mods that break IC and change every patch.

 

Shadows and textures are a huge performance cost we should be able to tinker them if we are to have a VR experience that doesn't look like a jag fest hideous looking.
