markturner1960 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Hi, I have installed the hall sensor upgrade for my cougar throttle and have a couple of issues.... I am also using it with a Realsimulator TUSBA. First issue is that my throttle axis is reversed. Now I actually brought 2 different upgrade kits, one from viper gear and one from the German guy on these forums. I have fitted both and the axis is reversed with both, so am fairly sure it’s not hardware..... This issue can be overcome in software by inverting the axis, but I would still like to know why it’s happening. The most important issue is that after carefully calibrating within the realsimulator HiD software, where everything seems to work fine and setting the various detects along the throttles range, in DCS, all the throttle input is right at the beginning - basically, it goes from idle to full afterburner when you get to the first detent, what would usually be idle , IE, the first “click”. I have no idea how to resolve this, can anyone help me please? Thank you. RuskyV Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Have you tried running the windows calibration tool? Maybe this might bring it back in line.
markturner1960 Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 Thanks, there is a calibration tool in the real simulator software for the TUSBA and everything shows OK there after I set it up there. I have also run the Thrustmaster calibration tool, so I think this is a DCS issue rather than hardware and calibration. I need some way to match the physical position of the throttle to the required points in the axis response slider. But despite looking at several threads that seem to describe this, I am unable to work out what I need to do I am afraid. RuskyV Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Just as a thought I noticed you mentioned the thrustmaster Calibration tool if possible can you delete this program? My school of thought here is that you have 3 programs all using calibration methods Windows/TUSBA/thrustmaster. Windows you can’t do anything about as it detects as an HID component but you have set the calibration through the TUSBA software set, im wondering if the thrustmaster software is screwing with the already calibrated throttle., This is where DCS might be tripping over itself.
SilverQuant1 Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 I have the same issue, also using a cougar throttle with a Realsimulator USB TUSBA R2 dongle. The calibration in the Realsimulator software looks fine. The issue is that moving the throttle in Idle position is bringing the throttle in DCS in Afterburner mode. I'm using the setup in other F16 simulation software: works perfectly there.
SilverQuant1 Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 The solution : assign Thrust to JOY_RY. After that it works as expected.
