Pello86 Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Hi Guys, I am currently flying the A10 in Flamming cliffs 3 and I am always battling with the aircraft to keep it straight and level. I am using a TM HOTAS WARTHOG. When I leave the joystick in the centre the aircraft pitches up. I have check the axis in controls and everything seems fine. When I fly the F15 and leave the joystick in the centre the F15 flys straight and level. I am just wondering why the A10 doesn’t? Thanks for your help. norbot Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 That depends on your loadout. Use the trim-hat on your stick to level it out.
Exorcet Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 The F-15 has auto trim in pitch. The A-10 doesn't. As an aircraft changes speed/altitude/thrust, etc, its pitch moment will also change, requiring constant trim adjustment. That's what you're seeing in the A-10, it happens for all aircraft, but some will trim automatically for you. In the A-10 the pilot needs to correct it with the trim hat like norbot mentioned. Pello86 Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 Ok thanks for the reply guys and thanks for clearing that up. I best change my look up, left right and down from the trim hat switch then. Exorcet Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Looking around will probably get used more. What I do is have view controls on the trim hat, but then use a modifier + trim hat to control trim. So example Shift + Trim hat up or Joystick button 3 + Trim hat up to go nose down. norbot Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 If you don't use a headtracking device, stick to Exorcet's advice and use a modifier.
Pello86 Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 Thanks guys, I’ll use a modifier for the trim hat switch Rig: |(CPU)Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor i7-9700K (3.6GHz) 12MB Cache|ASUS® ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING|32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16GB)|11GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2080TI|2TB SEAGATE IRONWOLF PRO 3.5", 7200 RPM 128MB CACHE|1TB INTEL® 660p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (upto 1800MB/sR | 1800MB/sW)|CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET|Processor Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler w/ PCS Ultra Quiet Fans Thermal Paste||RIFT S VR| TM HOTAS A10 Warthog :joystick:
