My current settings are:

Windows Display Settings:

- Extended Desktop

- Laptop Monitor (onboard Intel 630 controller) 1920x1080 set as Main Display

- Touchscreen Monitor (HDMI on GTX 1060 Max-Q) 1920x1080

- Touchscreen is stacked on top of laptop (i.e. Monitor 2 is above Monitor 1)

Windows desktop looks correct, with my icons on the Main (laptop) monitor.

DCS Settings:

- Resolution set to 1920x2160

- 2_monitors-FA18C.lua (located in E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\MonitorSetup

When I launch DCS, the main menu page opens on the touchscreen, which is not the Main display.

When I enter the game (Instant Action) the cockpit appears on the touchscreen, and the viewports appear on the laptop.

Why is DCS not running on my Primary (Main) display?

This makes no sense to me. I've attached a copy of the 2_monitors lua.

If I stack my Main (laptop) display on top of the touchscreen, DCS opens on the Main display, but then I have to move my cursor down below the taskbar on the laptop monitor to get to the touchscreen (which is physically on top.) This is a PITA!

Also, in my Saved Games folder, there are 4 subfolders:

- DCS

- DCS Updater Utility

- DCS.openbeta

- DCS_AJS37

Both the DCS folder and the DCS.openbeta folder have options.lua files in them. Why the two DCS folders? I only installed OpenBeta. I've set the resolution to 1920x2160 in both of those files.

Hallelujah!

I had to puzzle this one out, but here's what I found out. With my touchscreen stacked on top of my laptop monitor (both physically, and in Windows Display Settings) I had to set the following parameters:

DCS:

- Game Resolution = 1920x2160

- Aspect Ratio = 1.125

2_monitors-FA18C.lua settings (Here was the magic key. I needed to force the cockpit down onto the main monitor.)

Center Viewport X=0, Y=1081

The other viewports needed to have their Y start point on the top monitor (closer to 0.) You can check out my updated file which I've attached. The viewport settings are working with Capt. Zeen's FA-18C_b_beta_Helios profile.

Well, three of them are. I next need to figure out why the IFEI, RWR, and UFC data aren't being displayed. In terms of X/Y coordinates, they should be. I think that data is coming from somewhere else. I'll figure that out eventually...

I swear, I'm spending 20X as long getting my displays set up as I am flying a plane.

FYI - the options.lua files are still a bit of a puzzle. I don't understand why I've got them in two different folders in my 'Saved Game' folder. the one in the 'DCS' folder has the wrong aspect ratio (3.55555556 vs. 1.125) while the 'DCS.openbeta' has the aspect ratio of 1.125, which matches my in-game setting.

I hope this helps someone who might be struggling with stacking monitors and getting the viewports' coordinates correct.
