Ore2049 Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 (edited) Anyone who understands help will be appreciated, I tried opening a server but when I told my friend to enter the server he told me it was offline, and when I check the port on the internet it says that it is not connecting. What did I miss in my port forwarding? Edited August 21, 2020 by Ore2049
iffoif Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 (edited) Hello! You need to provide more information: Did you open the needed windows firewall ports? Did you configure your router/firewall? Did you set up port forwarding properly? The screenshot you posted looks to me like a port forwarding screen form a router. You need to enter the proper values in there. E.g.: Local IP is the servers IP address, the ports and protocols need to match the needs of your DCS server. I tried following a combination of the tutorials linked here and here. I also made a small checklist and got everything working. Maybe it will help you, to read the list of tasks I performed to get the server up an running: Server setup to-do: * collect my DCS Server data: Name: [name] Passwort: [my password] IP: [my server internet ip address like e.g. 222.216.222.122] Port: 10308 SRS-Port: 5002 * Collect all network data needed for setting up my server [YOU VALUES MAY DIFFER!!!]: Server local IP: 192.168.1.179 SRS TCP and UDP port: 5002 DCS Client - Inbound: 10308 TCP/UDP WebGUI - Inbound: 8088 TCP TacView Real-time Telemetry - Inbound: 42674 TCP TacView Remote Control - Inbound: 42675 TCP SRS TCP1 - Inbound: 5002 SRS TCP2 - Inbound: 5003 * DCS Server - download openbeta server and install OK * SRS Server - download and install OK * DCS Server - configure autoexec.cfg as in tutorial OK * DCS Server - start and configure logins, stop server OK * DCS Server - set settings according to my needs OK * DCS Server - auto restart regedit as in tutorial OK * DCS Server - install maps on server OK * DCS Server - install MP campaigns? nope * SRS - set up autoconnect OK * DO I need script frameworks for my server? no idea??? * Port forwarding for windows - set up as in tutorials OK * Port forwarding for Firewall - set up as in tutorials OK * Port forwarding in router - set up as in tutorials OK * Make batch file for starting and restarting server OK * Start server, try connecting local webGUI OK * Use WebGUI to manage server and start a map OK * Start DCS and try to connect to my server OK - it works! yay! I hope that this wall of text helps in some way. Edited August 26, 2020 by iffoif added more info
Ore2049 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 Wow thank you so much, I really appreciate that. and I did the port forwarding in the router and still, no one can join my server, I needed to do more actions I assume now
iffoif Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 I am glad it was of a little help. Yes, the process is a bit involved, but not as bad as some other setups I did years ago. Following that "checklist" step by step and reading those webpages helped me a lot. After only a few hours work, the server is up and running. The only thing that still bugs me is: I have to connect to the server computer by remote desktop to access the local webGUI.
Ore2049 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 I think i understand my only problem, when i try to do the port forwarding its just doesn't work it take my IP from IP config and put it in the right place , but when I go to a website call canyouseeme it doesn't say I'm connected , and I have no clue why . maybe its not the right IP ? maybe I cant ?
OzDeaDMeaT Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Call your ISP, you might fall under a carrier grade NAT. It is where your ISP has a firewall of sorts between you and the internet. Check out this website to see what ports you have open. https://www.ipfingerprints.com/portscan.php I would also recommend getting a friend who understands networking to go over your setup. Hopefully it's just a misconfigured setting somewhere. CPU: i9-12900K @ 4.9Ghz M/B: MSI MEG z690 Ace RAM: 128GB Video Card: MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X VR: Varjo Aero
