littlepe Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Hi. I cannot find the 'Armed Speedboats' from the objects. I have used them before in Caucasus missions but now I just cannot locate them. Nothing in the encyclopaedia. Can anyone direct me?
Hunter_5E Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 They are still there under both "Naval Groups" and "Static Objects". Under Naval Groups they are a bit down the list, not listed alphabetically. Just scroll down until you find them.
littlepe Posted September 23, 2020 Author Posted September 23, 2020 Thanks Hunter - I do not have them anywhere in my static objects and my static objects when selected are headed 'Static Objects 2016'. My version is 2.5.6 - are you running a Beta version? = thanks.
Hunter_5E Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I have both stable and open beta on my PC. Armed speedboats are in both. You need to uncheck the "Historical Filter" in your mission editor to see them. Your Historical Filter is on, which is why your list says "Static Object - 2016". Uncheck that filter and you will see the speedboats :thumbup:
littlepe Posted September 24, 2020 Author Posted September 24, 2020 Many thanks Hunter - I didn't know that filter existed and checking the manual I can find no mention of it -I'm guessing its a new addition. I must have accidently clicked on it. Your help really appreciated.

The Historical filter is quite a recent addition - 15/07/2020 to be exact, in DCS 2.5.6.52196. New enough that it isn't in the 2020 user manual yet. Quote from DCS Changelog: "Introduced Historical mode filter in the ME. The historical mode is designed to facilitate the creation of historical mission scenarios. If the author of the mission wants to use equipment only for a given year, he can click on the small button with a clock in the bottom line of the Mission Editor, after which all lists of equipment and aircraft are filtered out for a given year. The lists will show only those aircraft or equipment that were in service with the selected country in a given year. This mode can be turned on and off in the process of creating a mission if you need to select objects outside a given year." EDIT: Thought I should add - the Historical Filter takes the "given year" from the date set in the "Time and Weather" tab. Edited September 25, 2020 by Hunter_5E
