Fri13 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 That is by design, real thing prioritizes Members and Donors over Others rather heavily. Even if you move Member and Donors to the bottom of the list and others to the top it will still only give Others 3 slots total to play with and saves 4 for friendlies even if there are none there. Ironically if Others is at the bottom it has all 7 slots available if there is nothing else in the link for it to look at. It is that way to prevent exactly what you are trying to do from happening. IE friendly tracks are the priority and you cant really work around it except by changing the ranges it shows stuff. That is interesting usability problem. Considering that crew is given a change to set the priority order as wanted, it is overridden by the safety reasons to avoid dangerous situations. And all likely by the system limitation for amount of slots one can have, that might have been some designer idea at some point to be fixed by how many slots there really can be. So the proper fix for it in reality would disallow crew even setting such invalid setup order. So not even offer the means to change those priority orders if it is not allowed in first place. But just learning such oddity does overcome it eventually, but it is not best solutiosolution. Could it be a relic from early versions that pilots exactly did that dangerous custom priority order, and to avoid it, it was just hardcoded to have always those four slots for friendlies. It could be the fastest and simplest fix without going touch any more complex code in priority list options. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
verana_ss Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 And EA-18G EWO as of right now, and have flown with JHMCS in the Growler (which works exactly the same as the hornet/superhornet), it works and looks exactly like it does in DCS in how it prioritizes and displays contacts. what does blink member/ closest friendly do?
KlarSnow Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Blanks the member / closest friendly or not when you look inside the cockpit
verana_ss Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Blanks the member / closest friendly or not when you look inside the cockpit Thankyou its interesting to know that JHMCS main A/A datalink use is to improve SA on friendly around you. When you cage(bug) either hostile/unknown/friendly/ground contact on SA page, does that display location of the those on JHMCS by force consuming 1 slot of JHMCS datalink slot out of 7? just curious.
KlarSnow Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 So if you TUC (Target under Cursor) something there is a TUC in the priority list, if there is room in the priorities it will promote whatever you have TUC'd to wherever you have it set in the priority. Has a little asterisk next to it in the helmet. I havent played too much with it but it appears to only be working off the SA display, using the STEP function on the SA display counts as the same. 1

Thankyou! would love to use that feature. that really improve SA.
