Your rear wheels will hit slightly past the wire itself, the hook should snag the wire right on touchdown.

Though, you're not to worry about where you touch down...sort of. You follow the IFOLS in the entire time and worry less about where your jet touches down. It's not a traditional runway with markers you aim for.

Thanks for that info, I don't have much of a problem with landings but they are a bit inconsistent, want to tighten them up. As for IFLOLS it is not the clearest using VR.

Look for the Meatball

The Meatball is Always Right

Tough to read if Meatball is high you are above GS

If meatball is low you are below GS

If meatball changes color do something you might hit the boat which is bad

You prefer the 3 wire but any wire will do if you are going to land on the boat

Flight path marker on the end of the landing zone, centered ball.

Where do you mean exactly by the end of the landing zone using the velocity vetor?

The end of the angled deck. They taught me to aim right in the crotch of the ship, right where the angled deck meets the bow. In close though it's way more important to be flying the ball and not worry so where the VVI is so much. You should be getting an IFLOLS overlay to see the ball in VR no?

Nobody likes me because I'm unsafe.

Yes I am getting the ball representation on the HUD but it disappears as I close in on the carrier or it becomes inactive...I guess at that point I'm close enough to see the actual IFLOLS.  Yes thanks I remember someone saying aim for the crotch for the 3 wire.

I'd say you should use VR zoom if you're having trouble seeing the ball. I use VR too and yes it is difficult a little further out, which is why you should be backing it up with the ILS on the HUD but the ball is the only way to consistently hit the 3 wire. As long as you're in the ball park, you'll start to be able to see the ball in close. I don't have the Super Carrier mod so I don't have the IFOLS icon popping up for me, I rely on the ball on the ship alone. Other than line up, my head stays cocked to the left of the canopy bell and doesn't come off the ball, with my periphery vaguely paying attention to line up.

Thanks I'll make more of an effort to focus on the ball.
