I have all the warbirds. Love them. As I buy a new one I have had to go in and reset all of the controls from their wonky default settings. I was ok with that even though it's a little time consuming and tedious for every control... There really isn't that much to warbirds anyway.

I just bought the Flaming Cliffs planes and it's getting a little ridiculous.

Each time I want to fly a new plane I need to spend a considerable amount of time resetting all of the controls. I know absolutely nothing about jets and the thought of setting each plane up control by control does not sound like fun.

Is there any way to set a default general setting for controllers and copy them to other new planes? Meaning in "general" changing the default axis controls and sensitivity and then a way to simply copy that over to a plane that is not set up yet?

It would be ideal to keep changing "general" as I learn Jets so the default settings can be copied to new planes instead of setting EACH ONE of them up control by control. I know some planes have unique controls but setting up common general settings would make things much easier and less time consuming.

I would love to know if there is an easier way to set up default settings for new planes!

Thanks for any help!

Absolutely, an option might be to go into your input folder and just copy the files from a current aircraft of similar style.  and put it into a folder of your making. Then rename the files like "Basic_Rudder_input.lua" , "Basic_throttle_input.lua"  or "Basic_Flight_Stick.lua" Keep in mind, every Input device uses it's own file, Joystick, Rudder, Throttle, Keyboard, Mouse. Unless that has changed in the last few months.

Then whenever you get a new plane you can load those files up with the basic controls and start modifying. On a side note, I keep an up to date, back up copy of all my input settings for each aircraft, just incase there is some issue and I need to re-install the game.

I believe the correct path for the input file folder is this one:

C:\Users\Your User Name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\InputUserProfiles

I had a look at the data structure and it makes sense.

Thanks for the tip!!!
