Had seen a few of these around the web but most were pretty fugly IMO. this is pretty straightforward, cost me $0

 

most difficult part is finding the pipe to extend with. This came from an Ike’s lamp I found in the dumpster. OD of the shaft you’re mating to is 13.9mm and it’s gotta fit inside the handle so shoot for under 16.5 OD

This steel pipe is common in tents, lamps, shoe racks etc. 15.5 OD 14.5 ID is what I found. I used a pipe cutter to roll a seam into the bottom to make the fit snug

I drilled the handle from 14-15.5 mm and actually just melted most of it by heating the tip of the metal pipe. I then potted the extension into place with epoxy on just one side of the handle shell. This locks them together and keeps everything serviceable. The bottom was a snug fit and got epoxy as well


everything works great. I eliminated the twist function
