Hi all,

I just started using both DCS an Vaicom, what a fantastic product.  I purchased the chatter pack and I can hear chatter.  The only issue I'm having is that the volume of the chatter is extremely low, I can barely hear it.  On the PTT tab I have turned the Vol knob as far clockwise as it will go but that hasn't increased the volume.  I have also tried the DCS setting for "hearing sound with Helmet on/off" no joy there either.   My Chatter setting is "Link to radio power" and I have the NATO theme selected.  On the audio page I've tried turning the redirect switch on and off and i've tried messing around with the different redirect options, but again no joy.  I have a surround sound (5 speaker system) and don't use a  traditional headset (headset only has a mic, no sound).  Anyway, any suggestions are welcome.

I'm pretty sure that "link to radio power" just means that you will only hear chatter when the radio in an active module is turned on. It has nothing to do with volume. And Chatter volume is controlled through VoiceAttack, not DCS. Try turning up the volume for your VoiceAttack app using the Windows volume mixer. Of course that probably will increase volume for all VoiceAttack sounds, including VAICOM's audio cues if you are using them. There are API commands for turning up the chatter volume but I suspect they just duplicate the function of the Vol knob on the PTT page and so probably won't help. In the end, I suspect that the problem is that the chatter audio is intentionally low volume so as to not distract too much from your own comms, especially when wearing headphones.
