AG-51_Sabot Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 "if you're in a fair fight you planned wrong." Team, Our squad is thinking about doing a dogfight ladder match in the spring. (Guns only best 2 out of 3) Does anyone have a somewhat fair configuration for a F-14 v F-18C guns only match around Angles 25? Initial thoughts were 2xCAT-9M, 2 Tanks and 75% fuel for the CATS and 2xCAT-9M, 2 Pylons, 1 Centerline and 100 % fuel for the BUGS Thanks in advance for your input. ~Sabot "There is an art … to flying. Spiceman Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 We do these as well. I think you can let each pilot prescribe their loadout and populate the slots in the mission with the pilots name, or simply load the jets up and let the pilot jettison or dump what they don’t want on the way to the merge. I think that for you, the mission maker, to try and craft a fair fight is asking for trouble. Everyone will have an opinion. Put it in the pilots hands. It’s part of their strategy as the one doing the fighting.
