roadczar Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 Just wondering for DCS if Ultraleap must be mounted on the VR Headset or can it be mounted above a monitor or to a small stand on top of my desk? I was told that Ultraleap supports this, but it also must be supported in the app.
edmuss Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 (edited) Not sure if dcs supports desktop tracking, main problem is that a lot of the switches are to the sides. The tracking envelope of the leap motion isn't huge so if it weren't on the headset it wouldn't be useable for the large majority of the cockpit. Might work ok just for the UFC and MFDs but that would break the immersion having to grab the mouse for most of the buttons. I was thinking of getting Ultraleap SIR170 dev kit which has wider tracking. Also, someone on YouTube mentioned that it must be mounted onto a headset as DCS uses as a reference point for tracking.
