Hi all,

I am currently designing some missions for the A/V-8B based around a MAGTF intervention in Lebanon.

I am trying to make use of recorded voice files and additional radio messages to make the missions as immersive and dynamic as possible.

To that end, I have some questions which I hope someone with more detailed knowledge / experience than my own may be able to answer.

1. I understand that aircraft will launch from the LHA speaking to the departures frequency, but is there anyone they would speak to before this? i.e, a tower frequency for engine start / manoeuvring on the deck?

2. One scenario I am building is provision of immediate CAS. I understand USMC CAS aircraft would be handed over from the AWACS/TACC, to the DASC who would be responsible for marshalling aircraft prior to handing them over to a FAC for terminal control.

Does this sound realistic? and what kind of information would the DASC provide to marshalling aircraft?

3. With only two radios, and one reserved for intra-flight, is it realistic that in the CAS scenario #2 in a section might be monitoring AWACS while #1 talks to the DASC? How would pop up threats be communicated - or would these come from C2 via the DASC?

I hope these questions make sense, I have tried to search the available documentation before asking but any extra resources are always welcome.

Thank you in advance,

PTS
