I don't want to wave my hands around like an idiot just to drag an icon across the desktop or rewind the DVD I'm watching. The spatial stuff is cool, but its nothing but a gimmick. If I present to you a pie chart in 3D that has a bump-mapped leopard skin texture and casts real-time shadows on the background, is this really any more useful than the 2D pie chart I can make in Excel? Or even one I can draw with a pencil? EDIT: Now apply this interface to controlling nano machines that can work deep inside the human body or at the microscopic level?
