GunPaladin Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 Quick start manual pg 37. "M264 red phosphorous for generating smoke-screen concealment. Equipped with an M439 variable time delay fuse, which generates a red smoke concentration across several hundred meters for approximately 5 minutes (depending on wind conditions). (N/I) " Red phosphorus makes white smoke not red. RP is safer and more stable than WP since it requires an external means of ignition rather than being pyrophoric and igniting on contact with air like WP. Mentioned in case it is implemented later in development. 2
Dragon1-1 Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 This. Red comes from the color of the crystal, not from the color of the smoke. Color of the smoke doesn't really matter for smokescreens, anyway. Red phosphorus is just less of a pain to handle.
