Logitech F310 game controller as TEDAC

I just got one of these as a workwround for the trigger axis issue when using an Xbox controller. As I have not yet been able to figure out how to sort this using 3rd party software

It can operate as an Xinput device or in direct input mode. Xinput works plug and play like the Xbox controller, and diretc input you can use the logitech software. 

When I plugged it in, in xinput, it seems to function just like the xbox controller, IE the triggers are detected as Z axis one each direction.

So i am assuming that if I use it in direct input mode, I can get around this? 

Sorry, I am not very good at this kind of stuff, has anyone tried using this controller? Can someone tell me if I scan use teh logitech software to program the triggers to work as buttons and will this work OK in DCS?
