I've been playing DCS(on the beta branch) for about a week now and I am absolutely loving it! I play exclusively in VR on the Valve Index, and the one issue I have is that the game recognizes my Index controllers as Vive wands. While digging through the forums on this topic I found a few posts that indicated that this was not always the case. Is there a setting I need to change?

Because Steam's controller options allow you to choose whether many of the inputs for the index controllers are an axis or a button, there are a potential 12 axes, and over 80 potential buttons. That multiplied by the Right/Left, Throttle, and Stick configurations would make for a more that suitable hotas.

Please Help! As I move into the weapons tutorials I am running out of bindings and peaking under the headset to find buttons on the keyboard is not a combat viable option.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I found a temporary solution.

This is a Steam VR overlay app that lets you bind keyboard inputs to the index controllers. I would recommend that you unbind the touch pads in the Steam controllers setting for DCS first. If you get creative with button combinations you can get everything you need until native support is added.
