'Fencing In' is the process of setting up weapons systems and having them ready to operate on the way into the Area of Operations.  To set up for a run means to get enough distance from a ground target (Initial Point/ IP), as well as be on an appropriate heading (to avoid hitting friendlies, or civilians), and enough altitude to employ your weapon system of choice, then nose directly toward it and attack.

What does it mean on approach for Case III to fly 150 until 5?  Does that mean maintain speed 150 knots until you're within 5 nautical miles of the boat?  When dirtied up and on-speed AOA I pitch up into a climb any faster than 135 knots. Oh well.     Wow mission 1 has quite a twist.

Correct. "150 to 5" means fly those 150kts to 5 NM from the boat. In the Hornet that means to trim for an AOA higher than "on speed" because 150kts will be achieved at a lower AOA than "on speed AOA".
