Tweaking sensitivity of the TDC hat axis

Hi, whats the best way to adjust this? I have tried using curves on the axis, but still find its a case of nothing...nothing....too much! fairly often.

Is it controlled by code in any way? The out of the box response seems too fast and despite various curves, etc, I am still not happy with how mine behaves  in certain situations. Its wierd, that for example, it seems much better when using it on the radar screen than the TPOD screen.......
