Hello ED,

i made some tests comparing 400 uncontrolled AI planes sitting on the ramps and 400 Static planes of the exact same model sitting at the same locations :

as you can see the static aircrafts require way less ressources. It’s a shame because I know that a lot of mission designers would like to use AI uncontrolled aircrafts to add some life to the airbases

F2 view 400 Static Aircrafts 153 fps 16% CPU

F10 view 400 Static Aircrafts 187 fps 11% CPU

F2 view 400 AI Uncontrolled Aircrafts 83 fps 32% CPU

F10 view 400 AI Uncontrolled Aircafts 97 fps 26% CPU

You can activate / deactivate the AI at will using triggers and actions. The problems are that static objects don't heat up or cool down the same way as "living" AI objects do, so they appear quite different on FLIR. Also, we should be asking the question of why the AI consumes so much computing while doing nothing, just sitting still.
