cfrag Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 DCS is not only an amazing flight simulator, it also comes with a fantastic sandbox that people can build missions in - the Mission Editor. And not only can people build missions, ED also offers a way for generous people to share their missions - the User Files section at digitalcombatsimulator.com What I'm wondering about is if ED can't join these two seperate but fantasic parts: Allow mission designers to upload /update and share their mission from within Mission Editor (with the added benefit that during upload, all meta info like player planes, year, map, weather, single/multiplayer, artwork etc can be gathered automatically) by simply clicking a button (after all, they are already logged in to DCS with their user) Allow Players to tap into that and discover/download mission from within the Mission Window - add a "User Files" tab in the Modules column. Players can then filter by module, and other preferences (e.g. date, author, keyword), and browse / discover any mission that matches, and download any mission that pique their interest Something along the lines of this very, very, very rough mockup: This would make it even more attractive to mission designers to share their work, and allow players who do not know, or feel comfortable about downloading from the internet, to discover and play missions that they didn't even know existed. 2
