thought it'd be nice if we were given the ability to prevent these systems from working on MP servers so we could stretch our viper into earlier scenarios as there's not much for it to fight in it's natural habitat at the moment

The ability to restrict Link-16 and JHMCS would go really long way for adding versatility to the DCS F-16C. Mission Makers could make more believable early F-16 variants by using Loadout Restrictions, and these proposed restrictions. Many, many historical scenarios call for an earlier F-16 variant, and these restrictions would go really long way towards that.

I know we're not getting another variant, nor Sparrows, nor NAVFLIR etc. But I do hope we could get the ability to restrict some of the functionality we have. If not now, maybe after Early Access.

Yes, please add this. Similar to an earlier thread which calls for the ability to restrict both Link 16 and JHMCS.

Being able to restrict datalink and helmet mounted sights is absolutely needed to get earlier fights. And provides options for all kinds of scenario.
Helmet mounted sight should absolutely be an option in ME, much like enabling NVG is for many planes. Because it is an option for M2000 and F-4, it clearly isn't beyond the game's scope.

nullYa'll should really check the ME better. The option for no helmet sight or NVGs is already there. Now for the L16 option, who knows if they will add it. Maybe when the implement the Transmit Power setting then you can just set that to none in the ME and it will actually work. You can set those right now but the options do not do anything from my experience.

The HMD setting only affects default choice, it does not restrict the player.

True. They should put it under the rearm option so we can add restrictions to it. Maybe that would be a better option?
