Fat Old Sun Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 (edited) Greetings! Does anyone have any success running Blackshark at 5040x1050 resolution? When i set resolution that high, the game hangs on start up. Doesn't even get as far as GUI screen and i have to kill Launcher process in task manager to get back to the desktop. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. I got Vista 64, if it makes any difference. Edited January 8, 2009 by Fat Old Sun
Shrubbo Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Best I can run is 4320x900 (1440x900x3)on the desktop and in BS because my monitors wont drop down to 57hz. But to get BS running I have to change the desktop to 3840x800 (1280x800x3) BEFORE I start the game. IF I don't do that then BS hangs for me at the start. Might work for you as well ? Remember I still have BS set to my max resolution. It just won't start with the desktop at that res'. Good luck. Setting desktop resolution to 3840x768 prior to starting the game did the trick. Now BS runs at 5040x1050. Frame rate is somewhat low though, it doesn't look like a useful resolution for my configuration. I went ahead and tried 3 camera option and it certainly looks better then stretching a single screen over 3 monitors. But framerate drop is considerable as well, we just can't seem to win.
Shrubbo Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Mine purs along. What settings do you have and what system etc? You may just need some tweaking, once I had th2g running properly there is no way I could go back to a single monitor, no way :) You might want to check this thread as well... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34832 As you can see in that one the single screen gives me an enormous FOV, almost realistic. I love it :) i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Thrustmaster Warthog T&S, TPR Pedals.

I love it :) I'm at work, but if memory serves me well, i have Textures and Scenes at High, water at medium and shadows are planar. View distance is set to Medium. I'm running BS on i7 940, 6GB DDR3, 8800GTS. 3 monitors are NEC 26 inchers. On maximum res i start getting weird stutters, not just in BS but in FSX as well. Which might be due to videocard limitations... It's not even stutters but some sort of hiccups every 2-3 seconds. Another question i have, what is the meaning of the aspect ratio choices that we can set in BS options? Some of those ratio choices are wacky. Like a number 4. Or 5.333?
Shrubbo Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I'm running a E6850 3.00ghz Core 2 Duo, 4gig ddr2 pc800 ram and a gigabyte GTX260 oc. I can't vouch for you video card but the rest should have no problems at all. I had an 8800gt and played at 1920x1200 with a lot of stuff turned down then got the GTX 260 and saw very significant improvements. Now I got the th2g on it and I am pretty happy with it:thumbup: I tend to think you are asking way to much of the 8800gts tho. Maybe try knocking the resolution down coupled with any mad AA and AF settings you may have getting toned down some. Also try setting the water to low or off, refer... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=572304&postcount=35 Actualy some more info on game boost can be found in the FAQ http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33527 Scroll down to.... --GAME PERFORMANCE-- I assume you are running vista??
