Vista,UAC and BS in program files

Some of you might have noticed, that if Black shark is installed under program files-folder, screenshots and tacview tracks don't seem to work, if running the game as a normal user.

Files don't appear to screenshots-folder and tracks to temp folder.

 

Vista has a feature, something known as virtual store. Software thinks it is writing to program files, but vista places the files somewhere else.

 

Examples:

 

Look for your screenshots in

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\ScreenShots

And your tacview tracks in

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Temp

[H-street]

this is why i created a directory under My user called Games

 

eg.

 

C:\Users\{USER}\Games

 

i install almost all my games under there so i don't have to really worry about the virtual store or running as admin..
