Interaction between french 1.02 version and lockon 1.1

i would like to know the result about interaction between french 1.02 version and lockon 1.1 about text and voice . What will happen exactly ?

 

Will we get all text and voice in french , all text and voice in inglish or a mix french + inglish

The downloadable version of Lock-on 1.1 is a universial one, which will work with any localised version, so I guess that means that these will be converted to English(US version). :)

Okay if every text and every voice is in English when upgradind french 1.02 to 1.1 it is a good news . What i was afraid it is to get a mix french+English beuuurk .

unfortunately you will indeed get some mix up of both languages. I tested the 1.1 addon with the German version, and it does not update every menu text to English. The encyclopedia and new campaigns are in English, but the menu entries remain in the original language. There are also some minor character misplacements with special German characters that will probably show up similarly in the French version (les lettres avec des accents je pense ;)), but that's nothing serious.

 

And at the moment I'm not sure about the speech files... I understand the French Lock On 1.0 version, just like the German one, had all English & Russian speech deleted by Ubi during "localization". I will have to check if those are now put in by the 1.1 addon, because quite frankly I don't remember at the moment, as I did most of the testing with a purely English version :)

I have a "localised" CD base version as well - but it is the UK one, so I wouldnt be able to spot any language mix-ups.

There is no mix

A french 1.0 patched with 1.1 is all in english (texts and coms)

 

There could be 1 or 2 minor things with french specific characters (like é, à, ô) but noting to worry about. Actualy you would get the same little mistakes installing an english lockon version on a french windows.

Sorry guys, I have to retract everything :)

 

With the latest 1.1 everything is updated to English for the German version as well. The mix up only happened with an earlier version. I can also confirm that the Russian and English speech files are now present.
