skoiboy Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Recently while flying a mission I was trying to get over the top of a mountain. From a stable hover I increased collective but no matter what I seemed to stay at the same altitude or descend. Any more collective gives me an RPM warning. It's cold but the anti-ice is on. Any ideas?
Satoshi Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Try approaching the mountain at around 150km/h and climbing at about 2-3m/s, should get you over if you start your climb early enough.
skoiboy Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 Thanks guys, your answers are spot on.

Chillspider Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 also if you are going real fast and pull up hard to slow down or climb with a lot of collective then you r could burnout your RPM's and you wont be able to climb very well. This has happened to me twice then i finally figured out what happened. And this would be at a hover at 20 meters and all i would get is a warning if i try to climb even a little bit.
