Crumb Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Hi, I initially downloaded DCS through Steam but then decided it would be better as standalone. I was advised that the DCS downloader would see the files that were already downloaded and just copy them, which I think has happened, but now I'm unsure whether I have duplicated them or not. I currently have; C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld This DCSWorld folder is about 117GB C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta This DCS folder is about 128GB So, I'm hoping that I can now unistall the version in Steam and reclaim that 117GB. Can anyone advise me on this? Would be appreciated, thanks!
Gasman6 Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 (edited) Greetings, As far as I know, Steam and standalone do not interact. As you have deduced, they are installed along different paths entirely, so you presently have two discrete installations of DCS on your hard drive. Additionally, you have what looks like the public branch Steam release, and for your standalone install you have opted for the Open Beta branch. I would uninstall the Steam version entirely, and migrate your module licenses to standalone. Please review the Support FAQ, which has an entire section devoted to Steam and explains how to transfer licenses from Steam to standalone here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/steam/ Edited January 3, 2023 by Gasman6 Cordially yours, Gasman
