I've started to fool around in the mission builder just to get myself better acquainted with the game, and subsequently whipped up this simple AI-only test mission where I have 4 Hinds attacking an airfield chock full of targets. Now equipping them with rockets both guided an unguided works just as expected, but give them bombs and the buggers go clueless. I've tried this with vastly different target category, route, speed and altitude parameters and nothing seems to help, i.e. all they ever do is a plain flyover as if they were in a bloody parade and that's it :mad: WTH? Did these guys skip the FAB / bombing ground classes or what? Pity we don't have an NKVD these days, because I sure know a couple of helo crews who could do with a healthy dose of political re-education... or worse :D The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

The explanation was actually in the FAQ part of Readme1.0.txt :doh: Let it be known that they didn't just say it when they stated that "this is a complicated question and there are a few possibilities" as regards AI A/C not releasing their bombs. And indeed, it was the wind speed and direction this time that prevented the Hinds from laying their eggs... No political re-education classes for those geezers then. Their commander (a.k.a. me) could OTOH probably use a few :music_whistling: The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
