I open this discussion following unfortunately the breakage of my NaturalPoint TrackIR 5, after 12 years of honorable service.

Evaluating a valid and above all cheaper alternative these days, on the advice of some flight companions I decided to try AITrack in combination with Opentrack, the latter certainly more known.

Unlike Opentrack which requires a modified camera (webcam) without IR filters, AItrack can also be used on a normal webcam. By linking the two open source software, AITrack is able to trace the points of the face and replicate the movements of the head.
Immediately after installing and configuring it, I must say that it's not bad and if set properly it is absolutely like a TrackIR.

The only difficulty I encountered in using this system which is certainly much cheaper is the "setting" of the curves on the various axes and you have to lose some time.

Who here on this forum already uses AITrack? Have you already tested some DCS profiles regarding the curves to set?
