I can see 10, 20, 30, 40 degree segments on the deployed flaps, though all I've been able to do is set flaps to either fully down or up.

Can the P-47 flaps be lowered in segments?

If so, can someone explain for me please, thanks?

The flaps lever got three positions: up (raise), neutral (stop) and down (lower). Lower the flaps fully, then raise them again by putting the lever in the up position. Once in the desired position, set the lever to center (neutral) position. This will hold the flaps in the current position.

Sounds a bit like you only set up and down in your controls and missed the center setting?

Yes, I was missing key bind for Landing Flaps Extend (Hold). Press when at the degrees required.
